Malspeed Racing Enters Chevy SS Cobalt in 2010 World Challenge Series

Hallandale Beach, Florida – March 15, 2010- Malspeed Racing Services announces the campaign of its first World Challenge entrant in the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing series. They are launching this debut on March 26-28 at St. Petersburg, Florida, with a 2006 Chevrolet Supercharged Cobalt which has seen many successes in SCCA Touring races over the last two years.

Malspeed Racing Services, based in southern Florida, is owned by Andre’ Wedderburn who, at 28 years old, is perhaps one of the youngest team owners in the series. In addition to the World Challenge Cobalt, his team includes a GT3 Porsche Cup car which placed fourth in GT2 at the 2009 SCCA National runoffs. “I’m really psyched about the move into SCCA Pro Racing for the 2010 World Challenge season. It’s a natural progression for my drivers who have competed with the SCCA in the club racing series and I’m confident that they will be competitive in the new Touring Class. I love the level of competition that we’ll be experiencing and I look forward to the challenge of delivering top-notch, consistently competitive race cars,” said Wedderburn.

The Touring Class Cobalt will run the full 2010 World Challenge Championships, sponsored by Champion Controls, a female-owned custom controls manufacturer and systems integrator located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “We’re excited about the partnership with Malspeed Racing for the campaign in the World Challenge Touring Class,” said G.M., Patrick Boyd, “This affiliation is particularly appropriate since or firm specializes in state-of-the-art engineered control systems and Malspeed specializes in state-of-the-art engineered automotive racing.
