About Us - The 411 On Our Company

Malspeed Racing Services is a fully equipped high tech racing prep, engineering and transport team led by one of the youngest team owners in the SCCA. Andre’ Wedderburn, at 27 years old, runs a championship organization highlighting a 2006 Cobalt Supercharged Touring car and a Porsche 996 GT2 Cup car, among others. His Cobalt SS will be a strong competitor in the World Challenge for 2010.

Andre’ has spent his entire life in an auto race setting, learning how to turn a wrench at age 5. By the time he was 12-years-old, he was an official member of his first race team, Acutec Racing, and experienced the victory of his first championship which the team won in Florida Improved Touring class when he was just 14. At 16, he earned a spot as a senior member of the race team which won the Florida Region Crew of the Year award in 1998 and competed in the SCCA National races. As Assistant Crew Chief in 1999, he won his 2nd championship with a Riggins GT1 Mustang.

After attending college and receiving his engineering degree, Andre’ started his own race team, Malspeed Racing Services in 2007. He crewed for two seasons of Ferrari Challenge races, contributing to two championships with Shelton Ferrari. He also ran a Riley Camaro in the GT1 class and in the Touring 3 class, in a Supercharged Cobalt.

In 2008 he added the 996 Porsche GT3 Cup car and led it through two successful National seasons, finishing 4th place in Grand Touring 2 in the 2009 SCCA National Championships at RoadAmerica. The team’s Cobalt also had several successful seasons, finishing 9th in the 2009 National Championships. Both of Malspeed’s National Championship cars won the Sunoco Hard Charger awards for their respective classes, reflecting the performance of his cars and the improvement of his drivers.

This year the team at Malspeed Racing Services is chasing another divisional championship as well as their first national Championship in the GT2 Class. Malspeed Racing Services will also be campaigning their Chevy Cobalt in the World Challenge Championship Series in the Touring Car class. Malspeed Racing Services will also be crewing and servicing cars in the Grand-Am series.
